Sheila Marie Moe (Pooley) went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 10th, 2017. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on April 7th, 1938 to William and May Pooley. Sheila grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School.
Sheila was known for her vibrant personality and her nonstop chatter; she would walk up to a complete stranger and ask for advice without a second thought! She was always on the go, helping anytime someone asked her and putting in 150%. Sheila grew up cooking and loved her profession and work that she did at Weyerhaeuser and the Tacoma Country and Golf Club. She also loved to dance and sing, even meeting her current husband of almost 40 years because of a dance. Sheila was also very vocal and passionate about her faith, giving numerous hours of her time to assist at the Church and to help those in need and in belief. Sheila had many loves, the first being the Lord, followed by family and friends. She was thrilled to travel to Scotland and see the sites of her heritage.
Sheila is enjoying a Scottish party in heaven with those that predeceased her including her parents; daughters, June Hazard and Sandra Hazard; siblings, Douglas Pooley, William (Ed) Pooley, Robert (Bruce) Pooley, and Helen Sampson.
She is survived by husband, Lester Moe; granddaughters, Heather Hazard and Rylee Genther; stepdaughter, Laura Genther (Jon); sister-in-laws, Barbara Pooley and Sally Pooley; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at New Tacoma Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, there has been a funeral account set up at Sound Credit Union under Heather’s name to help the family with expenses. Please visit the New Tacoma Cemetery website for more information.
The family is requesting those in attendance to bring a memory or memories of Sheila, handwritten or printed out, as a keepsake for them. Any pictures of Sheila are also appreciated.
