Sam Uyeda, 82, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in January 2018. Sam was born in Tacoma to Gene and Josie Uyeda.
Sam is survived by his wife Alice of 54 years, daughter Denise of California and son Brian of California, sisters Luana Yoshino and Fusako Akimoto, and nieces, nephews and extended family. Sam was a loving father, husband, and friend to all.
Sam and his family were interned under Executive Order 9066 during the FDR administration for which a formal apology from the government was received. Sam served his military obligation in the U.S. Army and later received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Washington in Seattle.
