Obituary of Kenneth Bakke
Dr. Kenneth Bakke, 86, born Dec 1, 1930 in Deforest, WI, went home to be with the Lord April 24, 2017 in Tacoma, WA, at home with his loving wife at his side.
Dr. Kenneth served his country as a Lt. JG in the Navy. He earned his BS degree from the UW Madison with honors, then went to Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1958 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. September of the same year he married Dee Bakke, and they moved to Tacoma, WA, where Dr. Kenneth began his chiropractic practice dedicated to helping people with chiropractic care from 1958 until February 2016.
Dr. Kenneth was active in his profession, including being instrumental in developing a consultant program with the WA State Dept of L&I, and was among the first WA chiropractic consultants. He also was a charter member of WA State Chiropractic Association.
In addition, Dr. Kenneth was an active member of Central Lutheran Church from 1958 to present, including being president and VP and a Deacon.
Dr. Kenneth is survived by his wife Dee Bakke, Dr. Danan Bakke (Kimberly), Lisa Martinson-Pritchett (James), grandchildren Andrew, Ethan, and Victoria, and nephews Drs. Gregg (Meredith), David (Kelly), and Phillip (Anne) of WI, and Erick (Jenn) of NH, and nieces Ann Marie of WI and Kimberly (Tom) and Debbie of NH.
Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, May 5, 2017, at Central Lutheran Church, 409 North Tacoma Ave., Tacoma, WA 98403.
