Obituary of Betty Arnestad

On January 10th, 2018, Betty passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord.

Betty June (Quistorff) Arnestad was born in the Gig Harbor/Rosedale area on June 12, 1925 to Adolf and Lydia. She graduated from Clover Park high school in 1943. On April 11, 1947, she married the love of her life Walter Arnestad. Together, they raised 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma and enjoyed reading romance and mystery novels. Betty and Walt both loved to travel and after Walt retired in the late 70’s, they traveled to Norway, Australia, Hawaii, and all over the west coast, taking numerous bus trips and grandchildren to Disneyland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Henry and Albert, daughter Carolyn in 1974, and most recently, her beloved husband Walter on July 9, 2016. She is survived by sister Marien Smircich, daughters Dianne (Dave) Rogers, Kathie Marzano, 7 grandchildren, Lynnette, Valerie, Gina, Aaron, Caroline, Andy and Monica; 11 grandchildren, Kira, Jimmy, Brandon, Vanessa, Seth, Floyd, Madelyn, Julia, Katelyn, Rosalie and Luciana, and one great great granddaughter, Annalaine, who was born on her 90th birthday. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Ray Miller, and Jordan Hungerford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral will take place on January 17th, 2pm at the New Tacoma Cemetery’s Chambers Creek Chapel. 9212 Chambers Creek Rd W, University Place, WA 98467.
