Obituary of Masaye Yamane

Masaye Yamane was born January 16, 1924 in Fife, WA and passed away peacefully in University Place, WA on February 18, 2018 at the age of 94.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kaz, in 1971.  She is survived by her sons Dudley Yamane (Sue) and Ernie Yamane (Gail), Grandchildren Kallie Yamane Moore (Scott) and Michael Yamane, great-grandson Brooks, brothers Kenji Yaguchi (Kazie) and Mako Yaguchi (Pauline), sisters Harko Yaguchi and Tsuneko Mitani (John).  Masaye graduated from Fife High School in 1942 and was interned at the Minidoka internment camp during World War II.  She was a long-time member of Whitney Memorial United Methodist Church and Puyallup Valley Japanese American Citizens League.  She was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to her Seahawks, Mariners, and Huskies.  Family and friends knew her as a quiet person who was a hard worker who would help without being asked.  A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
